Practica Psychology Dr. Rachel Forman , PsyD, Therapist in NYC near me - Therapy for Anxiety, Depression, Relationships, Family Dynamics and Identity

I view therapy as a unique process aimed at achieving a sense of personal freedom and growth across all facets of life. As we start our work together, I will learn about who you are today within the context of your past experiences and relationships. This may involve taking a closer look at patterns that repeat themselves in your relationships with family members, romantic relationships, friendships or your career - all areas of great meaning. It may also involve working through feelings of being stuck, of sadness, grief, loss, or past traumatic experiences. Through a psychodynamic framework, I will encourage close reflection of your emotional patterns and the subconscious processes that maintain them. With a warm and collaborative approach, I provide a space where people feel comfortable working through life’s challenges and the difficult emotions they face. Together we will work toward gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, allowing for meaningful change and more authentic fulfillment in your life and relationships.

I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pace University, an MS in Education from Pace University, and an MA in General Psychology from New York University (NYU). I completed the postdoctoral Fellowship in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Karen Horney Clinic. Previous training experiences include internships at Bellevue Hospital Inpatient Psychiatry Department, Four Winds Hospital - Katonah, Mount Sinai School of Medicine Adolescent Health Center and the Metropolitan Center for Mental Health. In addition to seeing patients in my private practice, I am currently also a Clinical Supervisor at the Metropolitan Center for Mental Health.
